Massachusetts gives warning about their former governor, Mitt Romney

leave a comment »

David Tuerck, director of the conservative Beacon Hill Institute, called Mitt Romney “naive” over his style of healthcare reform, which resulted in the expansion of the Massachusetts state government.

Though Romney proposed 88 different fee-hikes to hunting licenses and other permits, while cutting state programs,  Brian Gilmore, executive vice president of the state’s largest employer trade group, called Romney’s efforts merely, “nibbling around the edges,” and that no substantial reform was ever made while he was governor.

Massachusetts citizens issued a word of caution about their former governor to Iowa in the upcoming Iowa caucus.

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum climbed up on the polls just days before the Iowa Caucuses. Analysts speculate a possible third place for Santorum behind “frontrunners” Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. Without the financing as his frontrunner rivals, Santorum will be hard-pressed to continue his recently found momentum.

Romney Calls Paul Out of Step, While Washington Times Says Differently

leave a comment »

As the date of the Iowa Caucus approaches, Mitt Romney attacked Ron Paul in saying, “I don’t think Ron Paul represents the mainstream of Republican thought with regards to issues, particularly in foreign policy.”

Washington Times sees things differently, releasing today, “Paul’s commitment to economic liberty, however, coincides with a growing conviction among Republicans that government is too big, that taxes should not be raised, that spending should be slashed, and that economic decisions should be made by consumers and producers in markets.”

Which is correct will be made clear in the Iowa Caucus and the coming months.

Ron Paul to Win Iowa Caucus…So Iowa Doesn’t Matter

leave a comment »

Republican rivals Mitt Romney and others denounce the importance of the Iowa Caucus on January 3rd when polls showed that Ron Paul may be taking the win. The Iowa Caucus is a long-standing indicator of future success on the campaign trail, leaving the sudden dismissal of the Iowa Caucus tasting a bit of sour grapes.
