Jon Huntsman: Act to set Congressional term limits

leave a comment »

Presidential candidate Jon Huntsman released a statement voicing his intent to propose a “Citizen’s Legislature Act.” The act would be a Constitutional amendment, imposing term limits on congress.

“Six, two-year terms in the house; six, two-year terms in the senate,” says Huntsman. Further, the act would bar former legislators and Cabinet officers from lobbying for four years after they left office, and a bar lobbying on issues where they had a “significant responsibility” for life. Finally, the Act would require former legislators and Cabinet members to “publicly release all income for four years following their service.”
