Huntsman calls out Romney: He’s working for the Banks

leave a comment »

Jon Huntsman told Huffington Post that voters might think differently of the GOP poster-boy, Mitt Romney, when they find out how much money he is getting from the bank sector. Said Huntsman:

“It is the fact that he has raised so much money from the large banks, the banks that need to be right-sized. If you are the largest recipient of funds from Wall Street, and in particular the large banks, you are not going to be inclined to want to change that model.”

In addition to the banks known to have contributed to the Romney campaign, other major Romney donors have exploited a legal loophole in the new campaign-reform laws to keep their identity out of the mix until after the Florida Primary. This might very well be related to Huntsman’s observation.

“I want those banks to be down where they were in the 1990s, where if they screw up, if they get sick, they can fail. They won’t bring all of us down with them.” said Huntsman, who has turned his sights to New Hampshire in a last-ditched effort to become a competitive GOP candidate.

In spite of the close heat, PPP predicts that Paul, “still has a very decent chance at winning on Tuesday- it just depends on whether his unusual coalition of young voters and non-Republicans really comes out to caucus.”
